Chameleone's story took a different turn when he almost suffocated inside the costume. The suit ended up being a walking death trap-- which he found out during the set.

Not long after hitting the stage, Chameleone couldn't breathe inside the headpiece because there was no oxygen pumping through it (which is a necessity). Once he freed his dome, the Ugandan rhymer ran into another problem: he couldn't really move.

Defeated, Chameleone decided to pull the plug on the operation but forgot the instructions on how to remove the suit. He nearly suffocated as the heat inside the suit began to rise.

No word on how he managed to escape, but according to a report from the concert, he was able to rock the crowd well past midnight.

After a two-year prison sentence, Ja Rule is a free man!

The rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, was released from Ray Brook Federal Prison in New York today after serving sentences for attempted illegal gun possession and tax evasion.

TMZ reports, Ja Rule’s wife picked him up around 10 a.m. and they traveled home, where he will remain on house arrest until July 28.

In 2010, the “Always on Time” rapper plead guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, and in 2011 he was sentenced to 28 months for failing to pay more than $3 million in taxes for his earnings from 2004-2006.

 Snoop Dogg recently revealed that he doesn’t think the world is prepared for gay rappers and athletes to come peeking out of the closet yet, but ready or not, Sports Illustrated has just featured the first NBA player to come out and speak openly about his sexual orientation. Washington Wizards center Jason Collins announced to SI today that he’s gay, and will go down in history as the first active professional basketball player to come out.

According to a letter written by Jason,  he has dated women, even getting engaged at one point, but he couldn’t keep hiding from who he really is. He says all he wants to do is to continue to play ball, but he wants to do that while being open and honest with his coaches and teammates from now on. Via---> necolebitchie.com

Last month, Ashanti unleashed a new track titled “Never Should Have,” off of her forthcoming fifth studio album Braveheart, and now she’s premiered the video to the crossover track.  In the new video, Ashanti is emotional as she sings her heart out, meanwhile,  we get to see the story of three couples who experience love and love lost.

“Never Should Have” is the first official single off of Braveheart, which has a release date of June 11.

It was family time for Jay-Z, Beyonce and their daughter Blue Ivy today as they caught a quick lunch in Paris.  The trio was spotted dipping in Szptime restaurant, where they were spotted by a few fans.  Now, there are some strict paparazzi laws in Paris, especially when it comes to photographing children but that definitely didn’t stop The Carter show from being snapped
 

Our condolences go out to rapper Trina, whose  brother was murdered in Miami, Florida this morning. 

According to reports, her younger sibling Wilbrent “Gonk” Bain was shot multiple times and pronouced dead on the scene.

Here’s how the Miami-Dade County police described the tragedy:

Bain was getting off his bicycle at Northwest 91st Street and 24th Avenue about 9:35 a.m. when 27-year-old Ron Dobson pulled out a gun from his waistband and began shooting. Bain was unarmed, police said. The two had been feuding for a while, police said.

Dobson, who was friends with Bain and lived around the corner, confessed to the shooting and now faces second-degree murder charges.

Family friend Rev. Gary Johnson described Bain as “a very good kid.”

“It’s unfortunate. It’s a terrible tragedy,” he added.

Trina has yet to release a statement on her loss.

Well, in a behind-the-scenes video of her photoshoot, the singer showed off that humble side when she was picked as one of People magazine’s “Most Beautiful” individuals in the world and asked to get undressed (makeup wise) for the magazine:

“The first thing that popped in my head when I was asked to be a part of People magazine with no makeup was, “Oh My Gosh. Oh My God, I’m honored. Oh My God, what’s going to happen? [laughs] But I’m feeling very comfortable with my skin and very comfortable to share it with you guys.”

During their sit-down, they chatted about things like how Hip Hop has changed since Nelly first came out and whether his music has evolved.  He also explained the meaning of his Moses tattoo.  When Ashanti’s line of questioning turned to his preference in women, Nelly looked somewhat surprised before he took the opportunity to list all the things that are deal breakers in a relationship. We learn that he’s definitely turned off by bad breath but a nice set of thighs will definitely catch his eye.

The interview was very mature and Ashanti kept it professional.
